Thanks for your interest in Weehawken Rowing.
No experience necessary. If you are under 18 years old, you need a parent or guardian to sign a legal waiver. All others will also need to sign a waiver which can be viewed on-line here where it can also be downloaded for printing. The waiver is only needed once for the season from each rower.
While we prefer that you sign up for a row on-line, anyone can decide to come at the last minute and they will be welcome. We need a minimum crew of 5 with a maximum of 8 for a boat. First signed up will be the protocol if you are the 9th person. If we have 2 coxswains, two boats can be launched- minimum of 10 max 16.
We typically will go out for about 3 hours on Saturday or Sunday rows and usually less on Wednesday evening rows. On weekend rows, we usually stop and have lunch somewhere.
Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and drinking water are recommended. We provide flotation vests. As a non-profit, we rely on the help of volunteers and donations: suggested donation of $5 per row is greatly appreciated. For further information on Weehawken Rowing, check other parts of this web site:
